We have had our sauna for about a month now. I am extremely overweight and I have tried every diet I come in contact with. However, I become discouraged because nothing seems to work and I go back to my old habits.
For the last two weeks, I have been going into the sauna twice a day for 30 minute sessions. I do sweat like crazy. However, I have been told I need to drink all of this water during and after my sessions. I also walk 1/2 mile a day.
I got on the scale today, and the scale shows that I weigh the same as I did two weeks ago. I have lost nothing. Can you explain. I do not over eat, but try to cut back on portions of the meals I fix for my husband. I cannot afford the high priced food that I know is good for me, so I don't know what to do now. Please give me some advice.

Dear Gloria,
Thanks for sharing.
The fact that you sweat when using your sauna is good news. You do indeed need to make sure to drink enough water to avoid dehydration.
It is generally accepted that using a sauna for a good sweat will aid any weight loss program, especially if you combine it with exercise like your daily walk.
You mentioned that you tried many diets and that you go back to your old habits.
The key here may be in finding one diet and/or lifestyle change that works for you and stick with that.
You mention that you are extremely overweight, so
maybe it would make sense to consult with your physician and seek professional help.
If your physician isn't qualified to help you, you might ask if he can refer to someone who is.
Thanks again for your contribution.
